Precision Through Automation & Measurement

At Surgical Coatings, automation is at the core of our coating process. Our automated coating lines and in-process measurement systems are designed to deliver the precision, repeatability, and consistency required for medical device applications.

Unlike traditional coating processes that rely on manual spray techniques, our automated systems control every stage of coating application to ensure uniform results across every production run. In-line measurement tools continuously monitor critical parameters such as coating thickness, feeding real-time data into Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.

By combining automation with continuous measurement, we create a closed feedback loop where data directly informs the equipment in real time. This integration allows us to maintain extremely tight tolerances while delivering reliable performance for surgical and electrosurgical devices used in mission-critical environments.

Automated Coating Systems

Our facility utilizes automated liquid and powder coating lines designed specifically for medical device components.

These systems allow us to apply coatings consistently across complex geometries while maintaining precise coating thickness and uniform coverage.

Automated controls ensure repeatable results from the first component to the last.

Industry-Leading Precision

Our coating lines are engineered to deliver exceptional accuracy and process control.

Capabilities

• Up to ±0.0005" coating thickness tolerance
• Process controls able to achieve >2.33 Cpk, sometimes considered "Seven Sigma"
• On-line laser micrometers for real-time measurement
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) data monitoring
• Automated coating application

This level of process control ensures that every coated component meets design specifications.

No Manual Spray

Many coating providers still rely on manual spray processes, which can introduce variability between parts.

At Surgical Coatings, our automated systems eliminate this inconsistency by applying coatings through controlled, repeatable processes.

The result is uniform coating thickness, consistent coverage, and reliable device performance.

Engineered In-House

Our automated coating systems are designed by our own engineering team. This gives us complete control over the coating process and allows us to continuously refine our equipment to meet the evolving needs of medical device manufacturers.

By combining automation with engineering and coating expertise, we deliver precision that off-the-shelf systems and manual processes simply cannot match.

Built for High-Volume Manufacturing

Our automation infrastructure is designed not only for precision, but for scale. With automated coating systems supported by continuous SPC monitoring, we maintain tight process control across high production volumes without introducing variability.

This allows us to deliver consistent, repeatable results at scale — ensuring every component meets precise specifications across every lot, every order, and every production cycle.
